The Legend Bell Falls - Exclusive Photo's

This year at Holiday World and the "Stark Raven Mad" event, the bell above the Legend roller coaster fell.  Here are a few exclusive photo's of the events, event.

Stark Raven Mad 2001 The bell had just fallen and still swinging The bell is still hanging over the Legend's track. Park crew are quick to  respond, determining the best way to get the bell down. Taking a rope and bolt  cutter up so they can lower the bell safely to the station floor. The rope is attached, cable cut and ready to lower the bell. As the bell is being lowered, everyone began to cheer the park and crew for a job well done, and no one was injured. These happy riders were the first to return after the ride was started again.

All in fun, the operator who pulled the rope, can't hide from what happened.

How did the bell fall?  Well you'd have to ask the operator, but my sources tell me one of the coaster enthusiasts encouraged the operator to give the bell a big yank.

The weight of the bell pulled the handle and raised the ceiling.  If you look at the picture the ceiling is raised just a little.  Later when the bell was lowered the ceiling recovered from the stress and rested back to normal.
